Mathys Tel receives playing authorization from UEFA

Good news for FC Bayern and especially for Mathys Tel. According to current media reports, the young Frenchman has received his entitlement to play from UEFA and is available to Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga opener against Eintracht Frankfurt.

While FCB youngster Mathys Tel was not yet eligible to play in the 5-3 win against RB Leipzig in the DFL Supercup last weekend, the youngster finally received the “go” from UEFA, as “BILD” reports. According to the sheet, the necessary eligibility to play is available in good time before the start of the new Bundesliga season.

Will Tel make his debut for Bayern against Frankfurt?

Tel will be in the Bayern squad for the first time next Friday, in the Bundesliga opener against Eintracht Frankfurt. It remains to be seen whether it will be enough to use it. FCB coach Julian Nagelsmann was recently enthusiastic about the striker: “You can see that he has a very good disposition, has a lot of good actions in training, good movements. He has very strong dribbles, dares to do something. I like that! He does it well.”

But it is also clear: Tel is not a candidate for the first eleven. Nagelsmann relies on a double leadership with Serge Gnabry and Sadio Mané. If the course of the game allows it, Nagelsmann will certainly give the top talent a minute or two.

Bayern have high hopes for “Mini Mbappe”

With a fee of up to 28.5 million euros, Tel is one of the most expensive newcomers to FC Bayern this summer. Those responsible on the Isar are convinced of the offensive all-rounder and see it as a “talent of the century”. In his native France, Tel is already being hailed as the next Kylian Mbappe. In Munich, Tel, despite his young age, should quickly gain a foothold with the professionals and receive regular working hours from Nagelsmann.
