Love All Play Episode 21 Release Date & Time Postponed

On Saturday, August 27, the globe would have seen the release of Episode 21 of the Love All Play anime. However, the 21st episode of the anime series, named “Whirlwind”, has unfortunately been postponed, according to the official Twitter page of the series.

The notification did not provide a detailed explanation for the cancellation; it simply stated that “next week, 8/27, will be closed”. Notably, the covid-19 outbreaks at production companies like Shine Post and Uncle From Another World have caused a number of delays to ongoing anime schedules in recent weeks.

It’s good to know that the delay of Love All Play won’t last very long as Episode 21 will now air on Saturday, September 3, according to the announcement post.

Episode 21 of Love All Play will now be available for worldwide viewing at the following times, according to Crunchyroll’s simulcast schedule:

  • Pacific Time – 3 a.m.
  • Eastern Time – 6:00 a.m.
  • UK time – 11 a.m.
  • European Time – 12:00 p.m.
  • India Time – 3:30 p.m.
  • Philippine Time – 6:00 p.m.
  • Australia Time – 7:30 p.m.

How has the series been rated so far?

Fan reactions to Love All Play have been very divided, and the series seems to have gone mostly unnoticed by the community at large. On IMDB, the anime received a rating of 7.4/10, which is a respectable rating for an anime. However, with less than 50 ratings, it’s clear that few anime lovers have watched it in the last 20 weeks.

Other user-based review websites with comparable ratings include Anime Planet (3.4/5), Anilist (58%), and MyAnimeList (6.26/10), among others. Love All Play also spent 35 weeks on the AniTrendz weekly charts, but is currently tied for 40th place and has rarely been able to crack the Top 30 series.

The series “is a very enjoyable badminton anime, which is basically just about playing badminton at a somewhat competitive high school level,” according to the top-rated review on MAL right now. Given Ryman’s theatrical Hanebado and horribly boring office/badminton club as alternatives, it’s actually pretty special for a badminton enthusiast like me.

However, he goes on to say that while loving the show, “there’s really nothing that stands out particularly well. I can’t totally suggest this anime to anyone.
