Different reports in the NBA agree that LeBron James is being considered to acquire one of the league’s expansion franchises that would be based in Las Vegas.
FS1 NBA analyst Ric Bucher said LeBron is in the “first position” to own an NBA team in Las Vegas. The Lakers player already has experience in sports management, as he is one of Liverpool’s partners in the Premier League.
Bucher’s sources added that Las Vegas and Seattle expansion teams are in the works and could be announced as soon as the next NBA television deals.
LeBron is currently 37 years old, which means that he will be 40 at the end of the 2024-25 campaign, in which he could fulfill the dream of playing with his son.
At that point, James could retire and wrap up an illustrious 22-year career in which he established himself as one of the all-time greats.
There could be the possibility of James playing on his own team, although it will all depend on the timing of the league’s announcement and start of expansion teams.
