Juhann Begarin and Ismaël Kamagate return for a year with Paris

Good things come to those who wait for. And boom, we start with a quote from a grandmother or a Buddhist monk, take it as you want. Still, this quote still has a part of truth and that, Juhann Begarin and Ismaël Kamagate understood it well. For our Frenchies there will be no NBA this season, since the back and inside have decided to return to Paris Basketball for the 2022-23 campaign. The objective of move is clear: play, play and play again to gain experience before taking the plunge across the Atlantic.

Frankly, it will still have been very nice for our French people, this vintage of Draft 2022. With four Tricolores selected this year, the blue-white-red flag was once again well represented in the country of Uncle Sam. And so that Ousmane Dieng (11th choice), Moussa Diabaté (43rd choice), Ismaël Kamagate (46th choice) and Hugo Besson (58th choice) all won over a team on June 23, everyone’s projects are gradually beginning to take shape. Speaking of project, Kamagate has a very specific one in mind: the pivot will return to France to harden up before taking the plunge. Arrived at the Nuggets in the second round, the interior effectively returns to Paris Basketball for the coming season. A choice that recalls that of Hugo Besson, who has also decided to evolve in Betclic Elite next season on the side of the Metropolitans 92. Kamagate will also arrive with a nice surprise in the suitcase. A surprise of 1m96 and who made noise in the Summer League: Juhann Begarin. The only Frenchie drafted in 2021 (by Boston, 45th choice), Begz also returns for a season with Paname. Back home so for our two cocoricos who were already playing at Carpentier last season. A stint in Betclic Elite really formative and individually successful for our youngsters, since the two were All-Stars and Kamagate was even voted defender of the year 2022. Just that!

We will therefore have to wait a little longer before seeing our two Frenchies evolve under the colors of an NBA franchise in an official match. Present during the Summer League in Las Vegas a few weeks ago, the two Parisians nevertheless showed great things among the Ricans. Undoubtedly the best Frenchman of the exercise, Juhann Begarin sent wood with the C’s: 18 points on average, 5.6 rebounds, almost 2 interceptions and a monumental poster on Sandro Mamukelashvili. We can say without too many problems that the rear has impressed more than one. Small mention for his last outing with 25 pawns, we had worse in the last game. In the jersey of the Nuggets, Ismaël Kamagate also scored a few points during the summer. On the ground about 20 minutes per game, the pivot has some nice feats of arms, like his match with 10 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks on the truffle of Wolves. A generally successful summer for our two Frenchmen, but the NBA will wait for the moment.

While waiting to make their mark in the Great League, the Parisian duo preferred to return home to enjoy a new season in the elite of French basketball, and also participate in the EuroCup. Either way, Begarin and Kamagate remain linked with the Celtics and Nuggets respectively. Enough to progress calmly and gain experience for one day, perhaps, to make your mark in the NBA.
