Is NBA 2K23 cross-platform? Cross-game state and cross-progression

NBA 2K23 due out next month, but the disappointing news is that there is no crossplay and cross-platform multiplayer between PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

There is a lot to look forward to with this year’s annual basketball episode. The MyTeam contract card has been removed with almost everyone’s approval, while PlayStation players have an exclusive MyTeam challenge waiting.

For the most part everything that has been said so far about the game sounds good, but its cross-platform status might disappoint a lot of people.

What is NBA 2K23 crossplay?

NBA 2K23 no crossplay and therefore no cross-platform multiplayer between PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

This is confirmed by the official FAQ of the game. You should also know that there is no cross-gen multiplayer, which means that PS4 users cannot play with PS5 and the same goes for Xbox One with Series X / S.

Lack of cross genes because the current generation edition is different from the previous generation. The latest generation PS4 and Xbox One versions are those sold on PC and Nintendo Switch.

On consoles, know that you can pre-order the Digital Deluxe edition to get the game on PS4 and PS5, Xbox One and Series X / S. There is no free update if you buy the Standard Edition on PS4 or Xbox One.

How cross progression works

Although there is no cross-platform or multiplayer multiplayer for NBA 2K23The FAQ confirms that there is at least one cross-progress for MyTeam and VC.

Unfortunately, rumored to be limited to the same console family meaning it only applies from PS4 to PS5 and Xbox One to Series X / S. You won’t be able to transfer anything between PlayStation, Xbox, PC and Switch.

Consult the FAQ for more information.
