“I see a lot of evolution in Colombian basketball”: Jim Boylen

Living the practices with great intensity, Jim Boylen does not want mistakes. The coach of the United States team is already preparing his team to win a victory for Barranquilla against Colombia, today, starting at 7:40 pm, on the second date of the current qualifying window.

His experience is undeniable. The one who comes from being the main strategist of the historic Chicago Bulls of the NBA leaves nothing to chance. He constantly talks with his collaborators and divides the group to cover different needs. In the background, a trio of coaches analyze videos of the local team on their computers. A complete working group.

“I feel very happy to be here in Barranquilla. It’s been almost 40 years since the United States national team had come to Colombia and I am privileged because of the way they have received us.

Colombia is a team that comes at a great time. They have won three games in a row in double digits and have seen an incredible ability to come back from the markers. They have a very optimal development ”, he pointed out in his statements.

Boylen expressed that he feels very anxious about the commitment and the way in which the environment in the Elías Chegwin Coliseum can be colored.

“We heard that the tickets for this game are already sold out and we know that they have a great team. So the only thing I can say is that hopefully the atmosphere of the game is the same or better than all the places we have gone to play, ”he opined.

To conclude, the American took the opportunity to praise all the growth that Colombian basketball has been having and, in the same way, highlight the victories they have obtained against teams such as Chile, Brazil and Mexico.

“I see a lot of evolution in Colombian basketball and too many athletic players. There is a team that has too much experience”, he pointed out.
