FC Barcelona: fresh 148 million – players are reduced premiums – SOCCER

New chapter in Barça’s fight for cash!

As the Catalan daily newspaper “Ara” reports, FC Barcelona will get a fresh 148 million euros. Accordingly, the coal flows through two loans that the club had applied for in order to be able to handle the sale of 25 percent of the television rights for 25 years to the Sixth Street fund.

According to the report, the money will flow through a company called Locksley Invest. It was established to manage these television rights. The interest rate should be six percent, which would lead to enormous additional costs.

In the “Sport”, however, Barça denies having applied for these loans. However, the club also state that they cannot vouch for Locksley Invest as they do not control the company.

The balance sheets, which will be presented at the next general meeting of the board of directors, would make it clear that Barça did not request these loans at all.

However, the club acknowledged that the sale of the television rights required Goldman Sachs approval. The company had a guarantee for the television rights.

When Joan Laporta took over the presidency of Barça again in March, there was a loan of 595 million euros from Goldman Sachs. 125 million had therefore already been repaid.

Meanwhile, defender Jules Koundé (23) could make his competitive debut for the Catalans on Sunday. According to Spanish media reports, Barça have filed three lawsuits with the league if the Frenchman is still denied the right to play. One is optimistic – maybe because of the loans – that Koundé can play against Valladolid.

According to “The Athletic”, Barça has reduced the premiums for some players for the first two games. So nothing would stand in the way of a Koundé start.
