Follower of trash-talking, Joel Embiid knows how to recognize a big provocateur when he sees him on the ground. In particular, he made an interesting revelation about one of his peers recently, claiming that the latter spent his time chambering. The 2021-22 post-season has proven it!
If he dominates just by his overpowered physique, Joel Embiid knows how to fine his opponents other than by his athletic attributes. The Sixers pivot is also known for his big mouth, rarely hesitating to provoke his direct opponent. Trash-talking is something he appreciates and he shows it at any time of the season, including in the playoffs as soon as the opportunity arises.
With such a personality, the Cameroonian knows how to perfectly assess the lodging qualities of his rivals across the league. While on JJ Redick’s podcast some time ago, he was asked to establish a major five in the field, among current players. After quoting two tour superstars, he immediately reacted to the suggestion of the former court sniper, who had just mentioned an Arizona star:

Tommy Alter : Who would you put in the team of the best trash-talkers?
Embiid : I would say Draymond Green must be there, Kevin Durant… is there anyone else?
JJ Redick : I would add two names, Devin Booker and Chris Paul.
Embiid : You’re right about Book. I don’t think many people know, but he keeps talking. He talks all the time, he comes to provoke you! But actually, I love it about these guys. They know how good they are.
We saw it in the last playoffs, especially during the second round series between Phoenix and Dallas: the scoring back likes to go and provoke his direct opponent. Faced with the Texans, he notably attacked none other than Luka Doncic, making fun of him in the middle of a match. Bad luck however, that did not prevent his people from losing… Nevertheless, the guard’s fans are very fond of this attitude, which shows that the person concerned is sure of his strengths:
