Cristiano protests against United’s downgrade

There are just over four days left until the end of the summer market and Cristiano Ronaldo (37 years) still waiting to leave Manchester United. A year after his return to Old Trafford, andhe Portuguese striker is clear that he wants to leave to, among other things, play in the Champions League. A competition that he will not play with the Mancunian team and, ironically, for which he has had to lower his salary, according to the English newspaper Mirror.

As the same information explains, all members of United’s first team were forced to take a 25% pay cut if they failed to qualify for the Champions League due to an existing clause in their contract. But Cristiano has opposed such a clause arguing that he is not responsible for the club being left out of the Premier League’s top four last season.

United were in sixth place, 35 points behind neighbor and rival Manchester City.. And that’s what you want to avoid Erik ten Hag, who, however, has sat Cristiano in three of the first four days. The Dutch coach has preferred Sancho, Rahford and Martial to form the attacking trident of the Red Devils and with them he has achieved his last two victories, against Liverpool and the Southampton.
