This Friday, Colo Colo and Universidad de Chile were the protagonists of the grand final of the Under 19 tournament of women’s youth soccer in Chile. Both squads, starting at 11:00 am, played a superclassic on the Quilín courts, which ended with a 7-0 win for the Albas and gave them the title.

The match began intensely and with a penalty in favor of the Cacique, which Bárbara Medel missed because the goalkeeper Emelie Borie made a clear save. Sonya Keefe tried and Anaís Cifuentes too, but both missed the first for both casts.

But the game was plagued by arbitration controversies. María Jesús Tapia committed a handball in the U area that was not charged as a penalty. And seconds later, Montserrat Maturana expelled the blue defender Zoé Chávez for a foul on Diana Díaz, which ended in a free kick by Margarita Collinao.

At the end of the first half, Borie saved a ball from Bárbara Medel with her face, and seconds later she received the first goal of a morning full of goals. María Jesús Tapia received a ball that Constanza Alfaro cleared badly and hit a missile. The goalkeeper of the U could not with the shot of the colocolina, which entered from above and meant the 1-0 at 45 + 2′.

The second half, meanwhile, was a Colo Colo dance. Anaís Cifuentes took advantage of the first approach and shot from mid-range towards the goalkeeper, who deflected the ball. However, the striker Medel took advantage of the rebound of the ball and kicked on goal to make it 2-0 at 47′.

At 75′, everything was going five to zero in favor of the Albas. Anaís Álvarez made it 3-0 at 62′, which ended up being an own goal by Sara Verdugo after touching the ball as she entered the goal, and at 68′ Nicole Carter scored the fourth. The fifth? A penalty charged by former Everton, Sofía Barrios, after a blue hand in the area, at 75′.

The best player of the match was very clear to score the 6-0, which seemed definitive, but it was not. Margarita Collinao converted the sixth at 83′, with a pass from Paloma Bustamante from the left sector.

And at 90+3′, towards the end of the match, Anaís Álvarez once again saw her personal goal frustrated, as Emelie Borié threw the ball into the goal and sentenced Colo Colo U19’s final 7-0 victory over Universidad de Chili. The Albas are champions of youth soccer.
