Club Brugge has another addition: Raphael Onyedika has signed a contract until 2027 on Jan Breydel. The 21-year-old defensive midfielder comes from Danish FC Midtjylland, where he was voted Denmark’s best young player last year. The transfer would involve a sum of 10 million euros plus bonuses: a club record.
Initially, everything seemed to point to a transfer fee of eight to nine million euros, but in the end Club Brugge had to impose something extra to get the young Nigerian to Jan Breydel. With ten million euros, the national champion has set a new club record when it comes to the most expensive incoming transfers. The previous record dates from a year ago, when Kamal Sowah was taken over from Leicester City for nine million euros.
