The ‘blue’ club intends to convince Barça’s Gabonese striker with a considerable increase in his file

Chelsea is convinced of the suitability of signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The ‘blue’ club, which has run out of specific strikers after the departures in this summer market of Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan and Timo Werner to Leipzig, has set the goal of Barça’s Gabonese striker, whose priority option is to continue at Camp Nou despite stiff competition from Lewandowski.

To counteract this initial intention of the player, the bet from Stamford Bridge is focused on offering him a considerable increase with respect to his record as a Barça player. Thus, this Thursday the first meeting between the leaders of Chelsea and the footballer and his representative took place, with the aim of discussing the terms in terms of salary and duration, the previous step to transferring a formal offer to the Barca.

This ‘blue’ interest has a lot to do with the link between Aubameyang and Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, who already met at Borussia Dortmund during the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons. It so happens that precisely those two campaigns were the best in the striker’s career, who scored 39 goals in the first and 40 in the second, dazzling Europe and leaving an indelible memory on the coach.

“I really enjoyed working with him. It was a pleasure. This has nothing to do with the current situation, but some players are still your players over the years. Immediately there was a great bond. We have a very close relationship, ”said the German coach a few days ago, questioned about the interest in Aubameyang.

At Barça they initially have the Gabonese as a substitute for Lewandowski, but with the departure of Memphis Depay to Juventus still pending confirmation, an interesting proposal from Chelsea could end up altering the established Barça plan.
