Cardinals with a thumping victory against Berlin at the end of the season

The Cologne Cardinals closed the 2022 season in the playdowns of the 1st Baseball Bundesliga on Saturday in game two of their double header against the Berlin Flamingos with a clear 16:1 victory. After Berlin’s early lead in the first inning, the Cards scored at least one run in each of the six periods played. Timo Stock ended the game with a walk-off solo home run to prematurely end the game due to the 15-run rule.

As a starting pitcher, Florian Kawczynski only allowed two hits, one run (0 ER) and one walk with eight strikeouts. Timo Stock and Max Piontek each scored three runs. David Kuhn collected three RBI for Cologne. Patrich Kurzawa Rodriguez scored the only run for the Flamingos, but also had to accept the defeat as a pitcher.

Game one also went clearly to the Cardinals 10-0.
