Betclic Elite: Josh Carlton (NCAA) latest recruit from Le Mans Sarthe Basket

Le Mans Sarthe Basket is done with its recruitment. The club announced Friday the arrival of pivot Josh Carlton (2.06 m, 23 years old), and indicated that it would be its last recruit, in a press release.

Carlton will begin his professional career there, after a fully successful NCAA last year with the Houston Cougars, with whom he averaged 11.6 points, 6.2 rebounds in 38 games. With a wingspan of 2.15 m, he will be a significant asset in the racket for the Manceaux and should blend into the collective wanted by the staff.

“Unlike the last two seasons, we wanted a real 5 position, a player who serves as an anchor inside while keeping our trademark, namely mobility, rebound and a big defensive volume”

Elric Delord on Josh Carlton.

« In a market that has never been so tight, with very strong competition from the G-League, Asian countries and Australia, we seized the opportunity to welcome Josh who corresponds in every way to what We wish “, rejoiced Elric Delord, the coach of Le Mans Sarthe Basket.

Regarding its squad review, the club indicates that Josh is, along with Kenny Baptiste, Valentin Chéry, Marcus Gomis, Kaza Kajami-Keane, Brynton Lemar, Matt Morgan, Williams Narace, Terry Tarpey, Tres Tinkle and Mathias van den Beemt, the 11th and last element under professional contract with the MSB for next season. Intern hopefuls Raphaël Djasrambaye (2003) and Noah Goudou-Sinha (2022, Nanterre) will also be integrated into the group, while Hugo Mienandi (intern, 2003) has been loaned to ALM Évreux (Pro B) to perfect his post-training.
