The Basketball Association of the National District (Abadina) announced this Wednesday the celebration of the men’s and women’s basketball tournament, in the sub-16 category, in which the BHD Cup will be played.
The information was offered by the president of the Abadina, Diego Pesqueira, accompanied by the general secretary of that organization and the senior vice president of Corporate Communication and Social Responsibility of the BHD, Josefina Navarro.
The president of the organizing committee of the tournament is the councilor of the National District, Félix Perdomo and is dedicated to the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes, Víctor -Ito-Bisonó.
In the activity, Banco BHD, sponsor of the tournament, delivered all the uniforms to the participating teams in both branches.
“This support for the Abadina U-16 tournament represents Banco BHD’s commitment to promoting the comprehensive development of our youth,” said Navarro in a meeting with the press in the Abadina room.
The tournament will begin next Saturday, August 27, with the opening ceremony at 9 in the morning at the Palacio de los Deportes. A total of 10 women’s clubs and 56 men’s clubs from the National District will take part in the championship.
Navarro also said that “in Abadina, through its president, Diego Pesqueira, and its general secretary, Edwin Castillo, we see true allies in our practice of corporate social responsibility, which goes beyond the material (which is necessary). , but that sows in these young people an essential intangible: values. In this case, values that will make them stronger to face challenges, that provide them with the tools for successful teamwork and that will give them vision for decision-making”.
Representatives of different clubs that will participate in the tournament were present at the event.
