TOKYO (ANP) – The Dutch badminton players Selena Piek and Robintabeling have reached the eighth finals of the mixed doubles at the World Cup in Tokyo. After a bye in the first round, they won their first World Cup match. They did that by beating Zachariah Joshiano Sumanti and Hediana Julimarbela from Indonesia 21-16 and 21-16.
In the eighth finals, Piek andtabeling will face the Japanese Yuta Watanabe and Arisa Higashino on Thursday.
Debora Jille and Cheryl Seinen were eliminated in the second round of the women’s doubles on Wednesday. Japanese badminton players Rin Iwanaga and Kie Nakanishi were too strong with 23-21 and 21-15.
