Vrba started with a cruel loss in Baník. This path does not lead to the goal we have, he was angry

The miners locked themselves in the cabin after the game. And they had something to say. The point plans to use a favorable draw and four home games from the first six rounds received an unexpected crack in the first game of the season. “I told the players that if before the start of the league we talked about our ambitions to play for the highest places, then after today’s match I am worried whether we will even play for the middle of the table. If we play this kind of football, we can immediately forget about our ambitions. This path does not lead to the goal we have,” Vrba did not spare criticism.

Baník almost didn’t manage a goal against Sigma. The goal was only threatened at the end by substitute Lukáš Budínský, whose header was well saved by Sigma goalkeeper Matúš Macík. “Olomouc was clearly better and punished us for the mistakes we made. We had two situations where we could have dramatized the match, but Olomouc won by a well-deserved margin. It can be seen that we have to work on absolutely everything,” coach Baník joked.

On the contrary, Václav Jílek from Olomouc could sell smiles. “It’s a great euphoria. We managed that match brilliantly. It is not a random win, we were very well prepared. We knew where the danger could come from and where we could threaten. Added to that were the excellent performances of Chytil and Zorvan,” Jílek was looking for the reasons for the victory.

He sympathized with the feelings of his coaching colleague Pavel Vrba. “I am happy about the win, which was deserved, but at the same time there is a bit of regret or sympathy for Pavel. It was a very important match for both of them and I expected a tough fight in a good atmosphere. I was a little worried about whether we could handle it mentally. But it can be seen that we are already further than a year ago. The team is more mature, we are no longer so naive as to make fun of the atmosphere here,” said Jílek.
