In the final of the Women’s Euro 2022, England, host country, will face Germany on Sunday at Wembley. These two teams have been particularly flamboyant since the start of the competition, but only one will be crowned. While the Lionesses dream of lifting the trophy for the first time, the Germans are looking for a ninth European title.
Win a first major trophy, erase the humiliation of 2009, and avenge the men who failed last year… The English Lionesses, carried by a whole people, will be on a mission against Germany, Sunday July 31, in the final of their Women’s Euro football match at Wembley.
But given the figures, England are not favorites against a Frauen-Nationalmannschaft which is trying to regain its supremacy in women’s football. Eight times crowned at the continental level, in 12 editions, the Germans reigned supreme over six editions from 1995 to 2013.
