VfB Stuttgart: VfB in Allgäu: Matarazzo announcement to the team | Sports

At VfB, the cuddling course is now over!

Coach Pellegrino Matarazzo (44) clearly lets his team feel that at the training camp in Weiler-Simmerberg in the Allgäu. In training on Thursday there was a short, crisp speech to the team. Matarazzo demanded: “More concentration, more focus, men!” A clear statement that could be heard across the whole square.

One thing is clear: Matarazzo no longer wants to leave anything to chance. There is a lot of tension in the units, the trainer himself exudes a lot of energy.

The players notice that too. Matarazzo often interrupts the exercises and explains the processes. If an action is not performed properly, he intervenes. And warns: “The last pass is crucial so that we become dangerous in front of the goal.”

The trainer doesn’t like it at all when a player trudges listlessly across the pitch or isn’t fully focused during practice. Matarazzo always takes the players aside and personally explains what they can do better. Just like Enzo Millot (19) and Roberto Massimo (21), who got extra tuition from the trainer on Thursday – and then did their job better.

Does Matarazzo’s clear line work? VfB striker Sasa Kalajdzic (25), who had to report to Matarazzo after his outburst on Monday, says: “The coach knows when to be loud and when not. He can sometimes get loud in his analyses, but he is always factual and tries to give the right impetus.”

And all with the aim of not having to experience a horror season like the last again.
