VfB Stuttgart: Tomas goals and Sasa shock! VfB defeats Gattuso | Sports

There were loud fireworks before the game. In the game, Tomas provided the bang effects. And goalscorer Kalajdzic for a moment of shock.

At the end of the preparations, VfB defeated FC Valencia 5-2 (2-1) in front of 11,500 spectators at the Mercedes-Benz Arena construction site. Tiago Tomas (20) shone with a brace – including a dream goal from around 30 meters (44th). On the other hand, worries about Sasa Kalajdzic (25), who was substituted after half an hour with circulatory problems.

With the exception of the ailing Borna Sosa (24), coach Pellegrino Matarazzo (44) sent his top eleven into the race. Among them was Silas Katompa Mvumpa (23), who made a lot of steam on the left and brilliantly prepared the first Tomas goal (16th). Later he scored himself. It’s quite possible that Worry-Silas will be beaming again next season.

In the first half it was a weak performance by the guests of world champion Gennaro Gattuso (44), who folded his players after 30 seconds (!). An announcement that worked. Marcos de Souza scored from the fray for the bats with the first chance (30th).

A damper from which the VfB professionals recovered quickly. First defender Hiroki Ito (23) hit the ball from over 30 meters on the crossbar (41st), before Tomas exploited a mistake by Valencia keeper Mamardashvili before the break and scored a goal worth seeing for the break.

In the second round, VfB started at 28 degrees in Bad Cannstatt like the fire brigade. Substitute Darko Churlinov (22) sprinted away from everyone on the left, laid across to Silas – the Congolese didn’t need to be asked twice from close range and scored to give VfB a 3-1 lead.

But FC Valencia did not give up. Double packer de Souza ensured that the goal festival was far from over (55th). A corner where substitute Fabian Bredlow (27) stuck on the line in goal. And which was preceded by an unsuccessful clarification by the veteran Pascal Stenzel (26).

A wild game developed on both sides. VfB scored again just three minutes after the connection. The strong Chrulinov started sprinting, put the ball in the middle and newcomer Juan José Perea (22) pushed in (58th). The Colombian’s first goal in VfB dress.

A heart for the fans: striker Juan José Perea (22/r.) scored for VfB for the first time - and celebrated exuberantly.

After a top chance for striker Alou Kuol (21), who missed the goal from five yards out, the strong Churlinov put the finishing touch to a spectacular, sometimes tough friendly game with his goal in the 90th minute. VfB remain undefeated in the pre-season, having previously won against FC Zurich (3-2) and Brentford FC (2-1).

After the successful dress rehearsal against Valencia, things will soon get serious for VfB. On Friday (6.30 p.m.) third division Dynamo Dresden is waiting for the almost relegated team in round one of the DFB Cup. Then not on a construction site, but in the atmospheric Rudolf Harbig Stadium.
