‘Van Bommel sends third player to B-core’

The new season will start very quickly for Antwerp, because the first assignment of the Great Old is already on the program on Thursday. In their first leg in the second heat of the Conference League, they are visited by the Kosovar club FC Drita. For that match, trainer Mark van Bommel has to make some firm decisions right away.

After all, Antwerp has had a strong impact on the transfer market in recent weeks with the arrival of Vincent Janssen, Christopher Scott and Toby Alderweireld last weekend. With the transfer of the Red Devil, Van Bommel now has a lot of options in his defense, too many for the Dutchman. According to Gazette of Antwerp he therefore referred Abdoulaye Seck to the B-squad.

The Senegalese received the news on Tuesday and can of course also immediately start looking for a new club. He may want to find the 30-year-old as soon as possible so as not to jeopardize his place in the Senegalese World Cup squad. For the player, a transfer to another Belgian club would also not be excluded.

THIRD BANNELING
Seck is already the third player to be sent to the B-team by Van Bommel this summer, after Dorian Dessoleil and Alexis De Sart were also told that there was no longer a place for them in the A-team. According to GvA, Pierre Dwomoh also had to train with the promises on Tuesday. The 18-year-old top talent would not have convinced Van Bommel yet and is also not on the European list. As a result, he cannot play against Drita on Thursday anyway, so Van Bommel did not have to train him.
