Parma Clima beats Bologna in the first recovery match

An excellent performance on the mountain of Montilla and Contreras, a home run by Koutsoyanopulos and the positive tests in the box by Sambucci, Astorri and Talevi: so, last night, Parma Clima and its fans rejoiced for an unequivocal victory over Bologna.

The European champions imposed themselves with the result of 3 to 1 at the end of a match in which they made themselves preferable to their opponents by making eight hits against the three of the Bolognese. Wednesday evening at 20.30 the recovery of the third match on the Collecchio field: the match will start on the Collecchiese diamond in Via Montessori at 21.00 and will be open to the use of community pitchers.

THE CHRONICLE Parma Clima took the field with a formation close to the “typical” one despite the absences of Sebastiano Poma, Luis Lugo and Tommaso Battioni. Leo Rodriguez returned to defend in third base with Talevi in second, Sambucci in first and Joseph shortstop. The line of outsiders was formed by Desimoni, Koutsoyanopulos and Gonzalez with Mineo receiving the throws of the left-handed Montilla. Cesare Astorri was deployed as designated in the seventh spot in the batting order.
Even Bologna accused some absences, the most significant being those of Grimaudo, Fuzzi and Josephina. Frignani entrusted the mound to Rivero with Liberatore in the catcher box and Dobboletta designated. On the outside field Lampe, Bertossi and Deotto were positioned while the interior line was formed by Martini (first base), Paolini (second), Agretti (third) and Gonzalez Taveras (shortstop).

The hosts benefited from Rivero’s slow start to take the lead in the first inning. Koutsoyanopulos and Gonzalez made two singles and the center winger used a crazy pitch to complete the round of bases. The subsequent base ball granted to Joseph created the conditions for putting more points on the board but Mineo ran into a decisive double game on the Paolini-Gonzalez axis. At the change of pitch the guests tried to put pressure on Montilla with a single from Martini and four balls snatched by Dobboletta but the ducal starter solved the situation with two strikeouts against Lampe and Deotto and an easy out of Rodriguez on Liberatore.
The European champions doubled their lead in the second half of the third round thanks to Aldo Koutsoyanopulos who sent the ball well over the left fence to score his second personal home run of the season. In the fourth inning Rivero faltered, conceding a double to Sambucci and a single inside to Astorri but made up for it with two eliminations to the pot against Talevi and Desimoni. Bologna came back to be dangerous in the fifth, opened by an error by Joseph on a Dobboletta bar very similar to a valid one and continued with a “broken bat single” to the left of Liberatore: Bertossi brought his teammates in the point position with a perfect sacrifice and Paolini beat home the point of 2 to 1 with a joke on the right easily played by Sambucci. The subsequent duel between Montilla and Agretti was won by the Dominican pitcher who scored the seventh strikeout of the evening.
Rivero’s game (2 pgl, 6 bvc, 3 bb, 4 k) ended during the fifth inning after the granting of a base ball to Noel Gonzalez: for his replacement the Bolognese bench chose Murilo Gouvea who held the comrades in the wake with a strikeout against Leo Rodriguez. At the beginning of the sixth fraction, Parma Clima also replaced their starting pitcher: the excellent Montilla (winner, one point not earned, 3 bvc, one bb, 7 k) left the mountain to compatriot Contreras who easily took the first working innings with three quick eliminations.

At the change of field, Bologna presented on the mountain the left-handed Gonzalez Polanco who began his work with the elimination of Sambucci but who then suffered a very deep double from Astorri with the ball that broke against the protective mattresses on the field left.
Pichu Talevi did not miss the opportunity and beat in single right allowing Astorri to run to home base for 3 to 1. Contreras (salvation) was thus able to launch the last round with a two-point advantage and he did it flawlessly: Deotto strikeout, Dobboletta strikeout, Liberatore strikeout.
Parma Clima maintained their advantage and were able to toast to the eleventh victory of the second phase.
