The Catalan runners played a major role in the Skyrunning youth world championship that closed with the Skyrace Comapedrosa, in Andorra. Specifically, they took home 12 medals: one bronze, five silver and six gold. Two of which have a Girona accent. Olot’s Isaac Barti signed a great role, hanging the bronze medal in the sub23 vertical kilometer. Despite the accumulated wear and tear, only 48 hours later he was on the doorstep of the podium, which escaped him in the sprint by three seconds. In 2022, the runner from the Center Excursionista Olot was already champion of Spain in the vertical km in his last year as a sub-23.

In under20, Iu Jaume, from Roses, won gold in the online race after being silver in the vertical kilometer. The Catalan medals came from the hands of several runners. In addition to Barti and Jaume, in the vertical kilometer, Iü Net (Junior) won the gold and Núria Tarragó (under23), Biel Sagués and Gabriela Lasalle (cadets) the silver. But the category where Catalonia stood out the most is the online race. There, in addition to Jaume’s, four more golds were won: those of Tarragó and Daniel Castillo in the under23 category, Sagués and Lasalle, in the cadet category, where Martí Costa was second. Sagués, Net and Tarragó were also the best in their regularity category.
