the young Archers of Boé are French champions

They are four young Boétiens to have returned from the French championship, organized from July 22 to 24 in Riom, in the Puy de Dôme, with the coveted title of champion of France by club team in the cadet-junior category. Lucas Defevre, his brother Léo Defevre, Hugo Laforgue and Nico Bitria won their final against the Rennes team and brought back the national gold medal in Boétie territory. “A pride, for Jean-Marie Tovo, president of the Archers de Boé club, because our young people have shown solidity, rhythm and precision to win this championship. I am all the more proud that this title reflects the quality of our training provided by Gaétan Tual and Luc Palpan, our coaches, the commitment of volunteers, parents, and a whole club passionate about its sport. »

Lucas Defevre, this hero

Gaétan Tual, coach of the team, who had himself been French champion several times, hailed this title, “the result of a lot of effort during the season. This team had been second indoors in 2021, here they are outdoor champions a year later.

This victory at the highest national level had a special flavor, because it was the youngest member of the team who sealed the fate of this final, with Lucas Defevre, 14, who shot the last arrows for this title which rewards the best archers under the age of 21. “Léo is the youngest of this team but he knew how to take his responsibilities. It was necessary to do 5, he did 6; it was necessary to do 6, he did 8. A great mental strength which resisted the pressure of the challenge, ”insisted Jean-Marie Tovo.
