The Melilla Basketball Federation (FMB) and Decathlon sign a collaboration agreement that will benefit both entities, especially Melilla basketball.
Decathlon’s commitment to the FMB is motivated by its many years of existence and its great impact on Melilla sport, providing sporting successes to Melilla and not only as a federation but also with the different clubs that make it up and even in the arbitration establishment at the national level with 5 referee licenses from Melilla in FEB categories. Both entities share the goal of making the pleasure, benefits and practice of basketball accessible to the greatest number of people in a sustainable way.
Another reason is the FMB’s commitment to grassroots sport, with more than 120 children enrolled in its Basketball Initiation School and the 7 Regional Teams, with nearly 200 school-age children who compete at the National Level representing the city. , in addition to a team in the Junior category that competes in the Andalusian League throughout the year and 1,200 federative licenses.
Decathlon primarily seeks with this agreement to facilitate the acquisition of products and materials that they need each year, and to be present at the events, tournaments and activities that will take place, generating an impact on society and giving greater visibility to sport.
It is worth highlighting what was approved at the last FMB Ordinary General Assembly regarding the official game ball for FMB competitions, this being the TARMAK BT 100 model in its different sizes. Before the start of the season, one of these balls will be delivered to all clubs for each team registered in FMB competitions. In the sports field, this agreement includes a series of 3×3 and 5×5 tournaments throughout the season, with the contribution of material by Decathlon.
From the FMB we feel very excited about signing this annual agreement, hoping that it will serve to make Melilla basketball grow even more, and be able to continue for many more years hand in hand with Decathlon.
