FIBA U18 European Championship, one of the most important organizations of infrastructure basketball to be held in Izmir this year, will bring together teams from 16 countries in the city.

In the championship to be held between 30 July and 7 August at Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Karşıyaka Sports Hall and Bornova Atatürk Sports Complex, the national 18-year-old basketball teams of 16 countries, including our crescent-star team, will compete for the championship. Hosting the championship, Turkey will try to enter the top two in Group B between Spain, Germany and Poland. Group A includes France, Russia, Great Britain, Israel, Group C includes Serbia, Greece, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Group D includes Lithuania, Italy, Montenegro and Croatia.

All matches of our national team and semi-finals and final matches of the championship will be played at Karşıyaka Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Sports Hall. Turkey, which will play all its matches in the group at 20.30, will face Poland in the first match on Saturday evening. The Nationals will face Spain on Sunday, July 31, and Germany on Monday, August 1st. Turkey previously won the U18 European Championships in 2013 and 2014, and came second in 2004, 2005, 2015 and 2019. The championship, which was previously planned to be held in Konya, has been postponed for the last 2 years due to the coronavirus pandemic.
