The black belt suits her very well

Maja Halfmann is a Dan carrier.

-ad- Her cruciate ligament rupture a year ago had set her back in sport. But give up? Is out of the question for Maja Halfmann. The 17-year-old judo fighter from Burscheider TG fought back. As can be ideally seen from the fact that the martial artist passed the black belt exam in Hennef and the BTG has a new master in judo.

For a week, Maja Halfmann prepared for the challenge in a special camp at the Hennef sports school and undertook an intensive training program. Every second with the goal in mind to pass the master’s examination in order to be allowed to wear the black belt from now on.

On day seven of their stay, the nine-member jury put the course participants through their paces. First, a rehearsed kata had to be presented. This is a fixed and named sequence of techniques, which must be carried out with extreme precision and almost statically. Each specimen was then tested in the soil program. Throwing techniques, standing program – it was extremely demanding, what was expected of the examinees. Ultimately, all participants were successful. And Halfmann is the most recent Dan bearer of the Burscheider TG.
