The badminton club of Oudon opens a section for 9-15 year olds from the start of the school year

We have chosen to offer only leisure sports, without competition. And that suits our members,” assures Julien Gohier, president of the Bad’Oudon Loire association, which now has more than forty.

We occasionally make friendly matches with players from other clubs, for the pleasure of playing with other partners., adds Cindy Bourlès, vice-president. The schedules are flexible for the sessions which run from 8:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., Monday and Thursday. Members can come on one or both slots. Some members, like David Cheval, certified coach by the badminton federation, give technical advice to others to progress,”completes Cindy Bourlès. The club maintains a good team spirit, with a diversity of levels of play.

After internships for young people during the holidays, many requests were made, but we could not answer it, because we needed the conditions to welcome these young people.

Supported by the French federation Sports for all to which the club is affiliated, the office applied for a grant from the National Sports Agency (ANS). This will allow us to recruit a trainer to supervise the young people, to buy equipment and learning kits. The supervisor can also intervene with the adults once a month. In the grant requested from the ANS, the office also provided first aid training for ten members of the club.
