Bronze medal for the very young Sofia Frassica from Mesagne in the Sofia 2022 World Taekwondo Cadet Championships.
Double for Italy in the world championship which is taking place in Bulgaria. The second medal comes once again from the nursery of New Marzial Mesagne, branded Nuova Special Welding. The youngest of the 18 called up for the national team wins the bronze after a busy day spent on the tatami in Bulgaria. Twelve years, the first experience in Cadets A, Sofia Frassica beats the competitors from Poland, France and Ukraine and climbs on the world podium. There are 18 total players called, 10 boys and 8 girls, in the categories ranging from -33 kg to +65 kg.
Yesterday the first medal of the Italian national team was won by Gabriele Rosato from Mesagne, today the medal of Sofia arrived and more and more convinces her teachers. Steeven Baglivo flew to Bulgaria to stand alongside his students knowing he was witnessing challenging and tense fights. In the end, the anxiety for the group of young promises from Mesagne subsided and two important positions on the podium arrived to add to the already rich medal table of which New Marzial Mesagne is very proud.
