Spurs release a STUNNING new retro shirt

Fifty years is something to celebrate. And for the occasion, the San Antonio Spurs have decided to spoil their supporters with a nice gift (at 160 dollars anyway). The Texas franchise will bring its very first jersey out of the closet, with a slight touch of modernity that makes the tunic really hot while being very simple.

This jersey is obviously reminiscent of George Gervin, one of the greatest superstars in spurs history. He shone and hit the opposing defenses with this same shirt.

On the other hand, it’s almost a shame that the product coincides with a probably very modest season – not to mention TANKING – from Spurs. The franchise has just parted ways with its best player, Dejounte Murray, looking only for draft picks in return. Beyond Keldon Johnson and the sophomores or rookies, most players on the roster will not be part of the project in the medium term.

In San Antonio, a reconstruction deeply marked by Spurs identity

Okay, Dallas’ move to San Antonio dates back to 1973 but Spurs’ first season was 73-74. It might be worth waiting a year to try to boost sales with a possible talent drafted very high.

The jersey will be available on the Spurs online shop but it’s a safe bet that it will be a test to get your hands on it…
