Wimbledon sensation predicts promising future for daughter

Wimbledon semi-finalist Tatjana Maria thinks her eight-year-old daughter Charlotte is a talented tennis player with a promising future. “She really has talent and definitely wants to play Wimbledon at some point. We try everything that she can go her own way,” said the 34-year-old to “t-online.de”. It’s great for her daughter to be at the tournaments and to play with the other players. “This is something very special for her”said the mother of two.
Maria reports that she trains with the eight-year-old every morning. “Either we play together or we do exercises with balls from the basket. Your dad and my husband are our coaches and that works great,” said number 100 in the world rankings. Unlike her, her daughter plays the backhand with both hands, but she didn’t switch to one-handed until she was 25. “Otherwise she serves very well and loves volleys”she said.
