Should the Lakers seek a trade from Utah for Mike Conley?

The Utah Jazz is one of the teams that seems on track to rebuild its roster, this before the change of Rudy Gobert and the intention of also leaving Donovan Mitchell. Given their situation, the Los Angeles Lakers would supposedly seek a change with them that involves veteran point guard Mike Conley, something that may make a lot of sense for their plans.

The deal would involve not only Conley but Bojan Bogdanovic and in return the Californians would trade Russell Westbrook along with Talen Horton-Tucker. This agreement would benefit the wishes of both teams and in the particular case of the Lakers, it could even end up being fundamental in their bet to fight in the Western Conference of the NBA.

Conley is a player past the prime of his career, but as he’s shown over the past two years, he still has plenty to contribute as a playmaker and scorer in a supporting role. Unlike Westbrook, Conley is a player who can adapt perfectly to almost any game system and because of his personality, he would fit in well with the Lakers.

Of course, this will depend on whether both teams really have the interest in making such a big trade, but it may also be an excellent bet from Utah’s perspective, since Westbrook only has one season left on his contract and Horton-Tucker can be an interesting piece due to its potential.
