The Paraguayan National Team beat Bolivia 2-0 for the third day of the Copa América Femenina 2022, at the Pascual Guerrero stadium in the city of Cali and climbs to the top of the group A table.
The match began with a lot of intensity from the Paraguayans who, before 10 minutes of play, had three shots on the post. The first with a side charge that hit the horizontal in a rejection. Then it was a quick counterattack that Fabiola Sandoval finished off alone in front of the goalkeeper and the ball was deflected by the two verticals of Pascual’s south goal in the same play.
About minute 9, the white and red came out with speed from the left sector with Sandoval, reached the last meters of the field, crossed low and Ramona Martínez defined with location for the partial 1-0.
Paraguay continued to attack and had several options to score a goal, but they lacked definition and the goalkeeper Alba Salazar had many important interventions avoiding more goals against. Later, Bolivia was coming out of the siege and even had a shot to the horizontal with Marilin Rojas, but minutes later the initial stage ended.
For the second half, the Bolivians were unable to sustain the rhythm of the game and despite having clear approaches, the red-and-whites continued to dominate the match, but Alba Salazar was still the figure.
At minute 71, the Paraguayans scored the second goal in a play very similar to the first goal, in which Ramona Martínez advanced down the right side, reached the final line, crossed to the heart of the area and Rebeca Fernández alone without a mark, had several seconds at his disposal to make it 2-0.
In the final minutes the game fell into rhythm with the Guarani taking care of the result and the Bolivians had no more physical response, ending the first duel of the day on Thursday. On the next date of the Copa América Femenina 2022, Paraguay will have a rest day and Bolivia will face Chile.
