Qualification for the Champions League: Olympiakos and Fenerbahce succumb in the 2nd round, Dynamo kyiv pass

Bodo / Glimt confirmed their ticket to the third qualifying round of the Champions League by crushing Linfield, 8-0, after losing 1-0 in the first leg.

In the 3rd round, Bodo / Glimt will face the Lithuanians of Zalgiris, who fell from Malmö in the first leg (1-0) and the return (0-2) to the surprise of the Swedish champions thanks to goals from Oyewusi (34th) and Oliveira (52nd).

The poster for the second round, which opposed Fenerbahce and Dynamo kyiv, led to the qualification of the Ukrainians after extra time, 1-2. Karaev offered victory to kyiv (114th) after Buyalskyy saw his opener (57th) equalized by Szalai (89th) for the Turks. Dynamo will face Sturm Graz of Austria in the next round.

After a first leg won 3-2, Qarabag managed to snatch their place in the next round after extra time against Zurich, 2-2. Medevedev had given the advantage to the Swiss by scoring against his side (4th) and Kady equalized (56th), before former Pro League player Ivan Santini scored in the dying moments to give Zurich a chance (90th + 6). Owusu nevertheless offered the victory to the Azeris at the resumption (98th), to allow his team to face Ferencvaros in the 3rd round.

Indeed, the Hungarian club negotiated its return match well in Bratislava against Slovan, 1-4, after losing in the first leg, 1-2. Boli (20th) and Zachariassen (31st) gave the visitors a comfortable lead before the break. De Marco closed the gap (70th) but Traore (89th) then Laidouni (90th+5) ensured the qualification of Ferencvaros in the money time.

Maccabi Haifa won the last match of the evening away to Olympiakos, 0-4. Chery (5th) and Pierrot (61st and 65th) as well as Abu Fani (87th) allowed the triumph of the Israeli club after the draw in the first leg, 1-1. Maccabi will face Apollon Limassol of Cyprus in the next round.

The 3rd round will deliver the teams that will be able to compete in the qualifying play-off for the group stage of the Champions League. Union Saint-Gilloise will face Glasgow Rangers in the third round on August 2 at home and August 9 at Hampden Park.
