Portugalete is advancing at a good pace in the preparation of its squad for next year. The jarrilleros have already confirmed a total of eleven players, between the five renewals and the six new signings that they have communicated for the moment. The latest news to be announced has been the continuity of Ibon González, who will wear the black and white jacket for the second consecutive season. In this way, the Portuguese squad already has the goal covered, where they will be accompanied by Aritz de Miguel, goalkeeper from Mirandés B.

Ibon González arrived last summer from Pasaia. The 26-year-old goalkeeper began the season in a rather secondary role, playing just six games in the first round. Confidence at that time fell on the captain, Jorge Mediavilla. However, little by little he gained the coach’s trust and participated more and more, to the point of defending the goal in the two respective promotion play-off games against Barakaldo and Beasain. In total, he ended up playing games and “having good performances”, as reflected by Portugalete in the announcement of his renewal.

This is the tenth cash confirmed by gardeners in what has transpired from market. Mikel Cuberia, Julen Etxaniz, Aitor Morcillo and Alex Iriondo also continue. There are six other new faces: Mikel Alvaro (Amorebieta), Ander Peciña (Amurrio), Quicala Bari (Derio), Aritz de Miguel (Mirandés B), Inigo Ibargoien (Sands) and Enaut Mendia (Vitoria). On the other hand, there are a total of eleven confirmed departures: Mediavilla – Gymnastics -, Gandara – Gymnastics – Santamaria – Laredo -, Naveira – Laredo -, Sergio Garcia – Leioa -, Urkiza – Barakaldo -, Ortega – Gernika – Dani Lopez -Leioa-, Kevin Street -Durango Cultural-, Javi Lopez -Rock Sport- and Iker Salvador -Galdakao-.
