PK’2023 qualification: tickets for the match Ukraine – Italy can be purchased

The Latvian Basketball Association continues to support the Ukrainian Basketball Federation by helping to organize World Cup qualifying tournament matches in Riga. In the introduction of the second stage, the national team of Ukraine led by Ainar Bagatsky will meet the Italian national team on Wednesday, August 24, at 18:30 at “Arena Riga”. Tickets can be purchased at basket.lv. All proceeds from ticket sales will be used to ensure the participation of Ukrainian teams in the European Championships. We support Ukraine!

The Ukrainian national team has already completed the cycle of summer games in Riga. The victory over the Georgian national team (79:66) ensured the right to play in the second stage, but the Ukrainians lost to the Spanish national team in the last seconds after an exciting battle (76:77).

In the second stage, the Ukrainian team will play in Group L, in which Spain, Italy and Iceland are currently in the leading positions (all have a 3-1 record). Followed by Georgia (2-2), Ukraine (1-3) and the Netherlands (0-4).

In August, the Ukrainian team will prepare both for the World Cup matches with Italy (on August 24 in Arena Riga) and Iceland (on the road on August 27), as well as for the final tournament of the European Championship, in the first stage of which in Milan from September 2 to 9, they will have to fight with Italy, For the national teams of Greece, Croatia, Estonia and Great Britain.

Compared to the July squad, the Ukrainian national team will be supplemented by NBA-playing center Oleksiy Len, as well as forwards Bogdan Blyznyuk and Volodymyr Herun.
