Pera: “It was a tough year for me, but everything has changed very quickly”

What a week the American lefty has hit Bernard Per on the tracks of WTA but Budapest. After passing the preliminary phase, she ended up proclaiming herself champion of the Hungarian event, beating Aleksandra Krunic in the final. First final and first title for a player who was not having a good 2022. “I’m still shocked by what happened. I left with the feeling of having played great tennis and I feel very emotional after this victory. Krunic forced me to to play a great game to beat her. It hasn’t been that easy for me, although from the outside it might seem so. The start of my 2022 season was complicated due to injuries that kept me out for two months. It was going to be a tough year, with few wins, but everything has changed very quickly”, Bernarda has confessed as collected by WTAtennis.com.
