The 59th Open Hunt Tournament will take place from 12 to 14 August. The districts of Borghetto, Pianello, Ruga and Travaglio will compete in Montalcino, as usual, in the archery tournament to win the work created, for this 2022, by the artist Simona Stanciu.
“Our Holidays are not just a moment to be together and to find each other but they represent the deepest essence of who we are: they are the manifestation of our identity as a People: an industrious, courageous and responsible people who, after having spent the country, in difficult years, continues to reflect itself in the identity values of its city ”explains Alessandro Nafi, Councilor with responsibility for Identity Parties.
“Painting is my way of expressing myself, of learning, of seeking answers to my questions, of knowing the world and myself, of feeling, of being free. For me, art is a more intimate and profound way of living life ”adds the Romanian-born painter Simona Stanciu who has lived and worked in Montalcino since 2007.
Friday 12 August at 6.30 pm Loggiato of the historic Town Hall presentation of the Opera by Simona Stanciu which will be awarded to the Winning District of the Archery Tournament. Saturday 13 August 11 am Piazza del Popolo Trescone dance, 12 pm Piazza del Popolo draw of archers, 5.45 pm historical parade from Piazza Cavour to the shooting range, 6.30 pm “Provaccia” shooting range for archery. Sunday 14 August at 9.30 am The Auctioneer announces the party in the streets of the city, at 5.15 pm Historical parade from piazza Cavour to the shooting range, at 5.45 pm Churchyard of the church of Sant’Egidio: Blessing of the archers, at 6.30 pm Shooting range shooting competition with the bow.
