Official: Matthijs de Ligt leaves Juventus for Bayern Munich

The Dutch defender has signed a contract until 2027 with the Bavarians. De Ligt, 22, made his professional debut in 2016 with Ajax Amsterdam, his training club. During the 2018-2019 season, the robust defender (1m89) stood out with the Dutch club which had then reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.

After 117 games played for Ajax, he left the Amsterdam club for Juventus in July 2019. With the Old Lady, he played 117 games, compiling 8 goals and 3 assists. Collectively, he won an Italian league title (2020), an Italian Cup (2021) and an Italian Supercup (2020).

Dutch international, De Ligt also has 38 caps with the ‘Oranje’.
