NHL | The legendary Jágr took a dig at the American star after the NHL draft

The talented American was drafted 31st overall when he was selected by Tampa Bay. The experts certainly knew about Howard’s hockey skills, but this time the youngster drew attention to his head thanks to his clothes. A turtleneck and a white suit with it, a chain around the neck and a belt with an American flag. According to the media, the hockey talent looked a bit like a cocaine dealer from Miami Beach in the mid-eighties.

Reporter Caroline Cameron from Sportsnet therefore had to ask how the young hockey player feels about fashion, whether he deals with it and is a fan of it. The guy nicknamed Ice Man didn’t hesitate to answer. “I think I’m the best looking guy here, so I decided to be the best dressed too. It’s nice to get a little more fashion into our culture,” Howard let himself be heard. And thus started a stormy debate on social networks.

There were a lot of comments, but the best reaction was said to have come from the legendary Jaromír Jágr. “Hockey has changed. The kid is lucky it’s not 1990, the big guys would have fixed his face,” Jagr wrote first.

The media remind us that the Czech legend is fifty years old and still plays for the Kladno club, which he also owns. They also state that he scored eight goals in 43 games last season. He has 766 in the NHL, which ranks him among the best scorers in NHL history.

Later, Jagr toned down his dig at Howard and noticeably eased up on the next post.

“Hello everyone! I didn’t mean to offend anyone, but I just wrote as I see it from my experience. Maybe that kid will be a great hockey player. I wish him only the best,” said the Czech hockey legend.
