NBA: 4-year contract extension with Spurs for Keldon Johnson

The San Antonio Spurs have granted Keldon Johnson a four-year, $80 million contract extension.

The 22-year-old Johnson played 74 games last season, his third in the NBA. He averaged a career-high 17.1 points per game.

Johnson was a first-round pick for Spurs in the 2019 draft. He was selected 29th overall.

The contract extension comes two weeks after the monster trade that sent Dejounte Murray to the Atlanta Hawks in return for Danilo Gallinari and three future first-round picks. Murray led Spurs last season with an average of 21.1 points per game.
