At the height of the 2021/2022 competitive season Morgan De Paolitop athlete of the Judo section of the Polisportiva Riccioneachieved an exceptional result: it was called to represent theItaly at the EYOF 2022which will be held in Slovakia, in the city of Banska Bystrica from today, Sunday 24 to Saturday 30 July 2022.
For the judo of the Rimini province it is historical news, in fact it is the first time that a local judoka has participated in an event of this level. The EYOFacronym for European Youth Olympic Festival represent one of the most prestigious sporting events in Europe, where young athletes between 17 and 18 years old will be able to experience for the first time the thrill of participating in a real mini Olympics.
Morgan De Paoli, tough girl, doesn’t want to be satisfied with mere participation. In fact, having conquered the gold medal at the European Cup in Coimbra last May 29th which earned her the call-up for Slovakia, followed a very hard training regime, without backing down even in front of the participation in the final in the Italian Cup A1where, despite the training period in the exhaust, he won an honorable 7th placeamong the best seniors on the Italian scene.
After De Paoli, under the directives of the technical director of the Judo Polisportiva Riccione section, Giuseppe Longoparticipated in the Green Camp of Riccione, where the best European athletes were present; soon after she left for keyboard later he participated in one high altitude internshipheld among others by the medal winner at the London 2012 Olympics, Rosalba Forciniti; so she was a guest in Turin for two weeks of KUMIAI Druento (To), where it was followed by the Master Renato Vinassa (formerly the Blue Flames Sports Group) and the head of the men’s team of the Cadets national team, Massimiliano Pascà; finally concluded the loading period at stage Valbrenta where she joined a large group of other athletes of the Polisportiva Riccione and was able to compare herself with athletes of the highest profile, taking advantage of the presence of the entire Sports Group of the Carabinieri.
After a week of unloading in Riccione with her club mates and in collaboration with the KDK Academy of Maestro Danilo Nicolì, the Riccione De Paoli left for the Federal Center of Ostia under the guidance of Teacher Francesca Campaniniin charge of the Italian women’s national team.
“Morgana is in shape and we are really very optimistic. She is serene and knowing her this period in which she has managed to train consistently even several times a day gives her confidence. It was a very tough season and the result achieved does her honor even more, if you think that we trained all winter in spaces that were not suitable for athletes of her level. While Morgana will train and strive to the maximum of her abilities – says the DT of the judo section, master Giuseppe Longo –, the management of the Polisportiva and the new municipal administration are in communication to find the judo section a location that gives the whole group the dignity it deserves, after years of “nomadism”. There are many kids who already attend our group and others who could be part of it and who would have the possibility of obtaining even more prestigious results than Morgana and it is right to give them this opportunity, but they need the right tools to achieve these goals “.
