Monaco bows to Southampton, Angers slapped by Seville

Several French clubs were refining their preparation for a friendly on Wednesday.

While summer preparation is soon coming to an end with the scheduled resumption of Ligue 1 on the weekend of August 6 and 7, several Ligue 1 clubs were playing friendly on Wednesday. In addition to OM’s draw against Betis (1-1) and Rennes’ victory over Nantes (1-0), SCO Angers fell heavily against Seville at home. The Angevins could not do anything against the Spaniards who were far superior to them. The Black and Whites will have to quickly forget this heavy setback before facing for the resumption of Ligue 1 on August 7.

AS Monaco lost on the lawn of Southampton (3-1). Despite an eleven that could look like a typical team, Philippe Clément’s players concede a defeat and are not reassured a week before the reception of PSV Eindhoven for the third qualifying round in the Champions League. Finally, Lorient overcame Châteauroux (2-1) and Strasbourg lost to the Italians of Cagliari (1-2).
