The team led by Klopp beat Manchester City at the King Power Stadium with goals from Alexander-Arnold (21′), Mohamed Salah (81′) and Darwin Núñez (90’+4′), Julián Álvarez had tied at 70. Luis Díaz had a better first half and left the field shortly before the end for Carvalho. There are 12 titles in the Colombian’s career as a professional.

Alexander-Arnold gives Liverpool the lead

Intense start in the King Power. Liverpool with the ball proposing and City more aware of looking for the long game to take advantage of the spaces left by the rival defense that always played forward. A lot of mobility of the offensive trident to complicate Guardiola’s defense.

At 21 ‘Liverpool’s goal came after a great play that Alexander-Arnold started and he defined himself after the ball passed from one side to the other in the City area. The winger received a pass from Salah and finished off to beat Ederson.

City had a hard time meeting the intensity that Liverpool sustained until 30 minutes, there Pep’s men had a couple of options with Haaland after the crosses that came from the left, the most fragile sector of the Reds’ defence. However, Klopp’s men finished better and with the advantage they went to the locker room.

Julian Alvarez ties the game

Every time Liverpool changed rhythm, City suffered. The current champions of the Premier suffered a lot in the construction of the game from midfield, inaccuracy and lack of connection to leave him in goal position, that’s why Guardiola sent Foden and Álvarez onto the pitch; while, Klopp responded with Núñez instead of Firmino.

Julián Álvarez at 70 ‘scored the tie after a play in which Foden finished off a cross and Adrián could not take the rebound and the Argentine took the opportunity to celebrate his first goal in England, although with suspense because the VAR intervened due to an alleged offside that did not occur.

Salah and Núñez give Liverpool the title

At 80 ′ Darwin Núñez headed a center in the area and Rúben Dias crossed the hand, the referee did not see it until the VAR informed him. To the collection it was Salah who sent it to the left post of Ederson who almost stopped it, however, it was a goal for Liverpool that shortly after the end he took the lead again.

The referee added seven minutes and at 90’+4′ the Uruguayan appeared to make it 3-1 with a header. Darwin took advantage of the fact that Robertson lowered it in the area and beat the Brazilian goalkeeper, first at the official level and fifth in the preseason.

In the end, Haaland had the discount, but finished over the goal. Title for Liverpool that adds 72 in its history.
