Lester Quiñones signs two-way deal with Warriors

The team confirmed the agreement with the Dominican player after he played in three NBA Summer League games.

Lester QuinonesDominican player who was eligible for the past NBA Novatos Draftbut who was not selected and later signed an agreement with the current champions of the league, Golden State Warriors.

During the afternoon of Tuesday, the team confirmed that it offered a two-way agreement to the Dominican, with which he could officially act during the 2022-23 season, although he will also continue playing in the G-League.

The confirmation comes after the Dominican played three games in the NBA Summer League, where he averaged 18.6 minutes per game, scoring 9.7 points and completing 46.2 percent of his shots from the field. He additionally contributed 4.7 rebounds and a steal on average per game.

A two-way contract allows the player to provide his services to both the team of the NBA as well as its subsidiary in the G League. The player can stay up to a maximum of 45 days with the team NBA and the franchise that gives you an extension (it can be that of G League), owns the rights to the player, which provides additional protection against other squads.

Quinones fits perfectly with what makes them special Warriors. He is a solid marksman, especially from a distance (the specialty of the Steve Kerr), rebounds and defends the paint well and is especially good at helping generate points on plays where he doesn’t have the ball in his hands, which means he soaks up the defense.

The team would help hide some of his weaknesses as well. Quinones presents certain problems to generate his own shot, but with a ball movement like that of the Warriors, that aspect can be corrected. This means that there is space for the Dominican to start frequently seeing minutes from the team’s bench at times when players like Klay Thompson o Stephen Curry leave for rest, adding depth to the team.
