‘Legends, The Home of Football, presented by LaLiga’: the greatest immersive football experience comes to Madrid ~ It’s not football, it’s La Liga

In the kilometer zero, right between the Espoz y Mina Street and the beginning of the Carrera de San Jerónimo in Madrid, will open its doors at the end of this year ‘LEGENDS, The Home of Football, presented by LaLiga’, the greatest football museum of all time.

Los football lovers and collectors you can enjoy this original temple through a chronological journey through the history of this sport with immersive, technological, exhibition and interactive experiences thanks to LaLiga. Is about the largest soccer collection in the world with original objects and relics (shirts, boots, balls…) used in matches by the players themselves.

LEGENDS It is a project that started Marcelo Ordás 30 years ago and which has led to a collection of more than 5,000 objects that represent the evolution of this sport. The Argentine collector is one of the most recognized in elite football relics by various federations, clubs, governments, players, leading brands in the football industry and by the FIFA y UEFA.

The LEGENDS collection integrates the world football heritage most important that exists today. in the space of Puerta del Sol in Madrid some will be exposed 700 items of a repertoire that includes the pieces that have been used in all kinds of international competitions such as FIFA World Cup, European Championship, Copa América, UEFA Champions League, Copa Libertadores, Olympic Games, Intercontinental Cup, Club World Cup, UEFA Europa League, women’s football and each of the major legends and national leagues, such as LaLiga.

“Visitors will meet a unique football experience in the world, with the largest collection of original pieces ever seen, all compiled by LEGENDS and LaLiga, hand in hand with UEFA and FIFA. Seven floors full of innovative, technological and immersive content, which will allow you to live a moving experience”, he points out. Oscar May, executive general manager of LaLiga.

In their 4,200 square meters LEGENDS will revive the emotions experienced by its protagonists through original objects and pieces used during the matches. You can see everything from the boots and balls used by the first world champions to the kits worn by football stars such as Maradona, Pelé, Cruyff, Messi, Zidane, Iniesta, Di Stefano or Cristiano Ronaldo, among others.


Fans will find the official shirt that Andrés Iniesta sweated in the 2010 World Cup quarterfinals against Paraguay (0-1) or the one he wore Xavi Hernandez in the round of 16 against Portugal (1-0) the year that the Spanish team was proclaimed world champion.

It is a football museum but not just any museum: it is an experience to immerse yourself in thanks to technology and it will be a great focus of attraction for tourism”, adds Jose Luis Martinez-Almeida, Mayor of Madrid.

The building will also have a gastronomic space on its roof with the sports bar LaLiga TwentyNine’s, a store, a Game Area Metaverse, and 4D cinema, robotic VR games, temporary rooms and a room called Football Art, where state-of-the-art projections will be appreciated digitally and technologically.


The LEGENDS space in Puerta del Sol will open its doors before the end of the year y tickets can be purchased now on the LEGENDS website. Is about a unique place to understand football from its origins to the present.

United beyond football

With the opening of this museum in Madrid A framework agreement has been signed between LaLiga and LEGENDS which include two more agreements. The first collects the acquisition by LaLiga of 25% of LEGENDS Europe through a capital increase. And, the second, does the same with Sports LEGENDS and Collections, donde LaLiga obtiene el 10%, with the option to expand to 25% in 2023.

“The opening of a space like this and our alliance with LEGENDS will further position Madrid and LaLiga as benchmarks in international football. Today, Five new museums are planned to open in various European cities over the next 10 years. All these spaces will have samples of the collection of more than 5,000 objects and t-shirts.

Also, LEGENDS Europe obtains the status of ‘Official LaLiga Global License’ and, therefore, of the official competitions LaLiga Santander y La Liga SmartBank, in Europe. At the same time, LaLiga will be the main sponsor of the LEGENDS spaces that open throughout the continent.

During the last years LaLiga has managed to establish itself as a benchmark player in the world of entertainment, culture and emotions. During the last seasons the competition has managed to attract different audiences combining football with music or gastronomy.

One of the most recent examples has been the concert ‘Oh My Goal! LaLiga Music Experience’ held on June 11 in Barcelona to close the 2021-22 season. Thousands of people gathered at the RCDE Stadium to dance and sing with international music artists such as Raw Alexander, John Magan o Steve Aoki, among others.


LaLiga has also given a turn to the world of restoration with the opening of dos sports bar (LaLiga TwentyNine’s) in Port aventura and in the Gran Via of Madrid that offer fans a different way of experiencing the world of sport. These spaces have several screens in which all the meetings of LaLiga Santander, LaLiga SmartBank and other international sports competitions along with other sports such as basketball or tennis. Another of the great steps that LaLiga has taken in the world of entertainment and emotions has been the constitution of the joint venture LaLiga Entertainment beside PortAventura World and Kosmos. Through this new partnership, the three companies will carry out several projects, such as those already presented: the LaLiga TwentyNine’s restaurant and the ‘The Beat Challenge’ app.
