Greek shoots ball into the audience
Kyrgios demands disqualification after Tsitsipas dropout

Nick Kyrgios speaks energetically to Damien Dumusois, the chair umpire. Why is the Australian so upset (once again) even though he has just equalized the sentence?
Stefanos Tsitsipas, Kyrgios’ opponent in the third round, misses out after losing the second set. In frustration, the Greek shoots a ball into the audience.
Tsitsipas is incredibly lucky: the ball misses some spectators by just a few centimetres. That’s why he gets around the disqualification, although Kyrgios vehemently demands it.
Memories of Djokovic at the US Open
The Australian complains for minutes, recalls the Djokovic case at the US Open 2020 (the Serb hit a linesman and was disqualified) and demands the supervisor. But even Andreas Egli, a Swiss, does not comply with his request. Tsitsipas is only warned.
The spectacle continues on the lawn. There is still a lot of discussion, mockery and defiance. And once a Tsitsipas bullet hits Kyrgios, who puts it away easily on the outside.
At times, the fans are also served top-class tennis. Ultimately, Kyrgios prevailed in four sets and after more than three eventful hours – 6: 7 (2: 7), 6: 4, 6: 3, 7: 6 (9: 7). This game will definitely not be forgotten in a hurry.
Nadal without losing a set for the first time
6: 1, 6: 2, 6: 4 – Rafael Nadal (ATP 4) defeats Lorenzo Sonego (ATP 54) safely, in the two previous rounds he gave up a set. The Mallorcan and two-time Wimbledon champion (2008 and 2010) is only challenged by the Italian in the third round. (yup)
