Kings honor Brown! Number 23 anchors under the ceiling of the home hall

Dustin Brown made an indelible mark on LA Kings history during his career. The California team will adequately reward the attacker for his performances. No one else will wear the number 23 on the Kings jersey in the following years.

The American forward was chosen by the LA Kings in their organization in 2003, he appeared on the podium during the first round of the NHL draft as the thirteenth pick. He certainly fulfilled the expectations of the Kings management at the time.

He played 1296 games in the most famous league in the world, all in the LA jersey. He thus became the record holder of the Kings, but his teammate Anze Kopitar is breathing on his back. Over the course of eighteen seasons, Brown scored 712 points, which is another respectable feat.

The former captain of the team from Los Angeles will receive a great honor. Celek decided to eliminate number 23 and send him under the ceiling of the Crypto.com Arena. The two-time Stanley Cup winner will become the seventh player of the Californian organization whose jersey will hang under the roof of the home arena. The last time the Kings experienced similar glory was in 2015, when Rob Blake wore the number four.

The glory in the home stand of the LA Kings will take place on February 11, 2023. The native of the town of Ithaca said goodbye to his career in May of this year. He became the only player to play 18 seasons with the Kings. He appeared in the playoffs eight times, of which he received the coveted cup in two cases.

“Having a retired number is something I could never have imagined, it’s a great honor. I am very proud to have played my entire career with the Kings. I am honored to have my number under the ceiling with the best. But at the same time, I think about the two banners with the Stanley Cup, they are the ones I am most proud of. Many people contributed to the two banners being under the roof. In the same way, many people have influenced my career, without them I would not have the number under the ceiling. Thank you to everyone who helped make my dreams come true,” Brown said via the club’s website.
