After a 2021-2022 that saw him make history, as the first Mexican player to win an NBA title, Juan Toscano defined his future: he agreed to a contract con Los Angeles Lakersas confirmed by his agent Erika Ruiz. There are still no details about the amount or extension of the link.
Toscano did not have the prominence of 2020-2021 with the Warriors, but it was still a productive role player for Steve Kerr’s second unit, averaging 4.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 13.6 minutes per game.
And although he could not afford to continue with the champion, he ended up signing with one of the most recognized and important franchises in the competition, such as the Los Angeles Lakers. He will be the first Mexican player to wear the purple and gold.
Los Angeles has moved at the beginning of Free Agency by signing several perimeter players with similar characteristics: athletic and defensive players, such as Toscano, Lonnie Walker and Troy Brown. Darvin Ham had announced that he wants to have a much stronger Lakers when it comes to defense and the moves by the management match that desire.
