For a short week, we have known that JaMychal Green will leave the Thunder, where he was transferred in early July, via a “buy-out”. A breach of contract that will allow him to join the Warriors for minimum wage.
Selon Sportrac, he will give up on 2.6 million dollars, out of the 8.2 million dollars he was due to receive in 2022/23. A sum that he will fully recover since he will commit for 2.6 million dollars with Golden State. This is the minimum wage for a veteran, in the NBA for eight years.
It is a now common practice, and which suits both sides, even if a player can always technically claim his entire check from the club which wishes to part with it.
